Emergency Rent Relief - HRA’s One-Shot Deal

NYC’s Human Resource Administration's "One Shot Deal" emergency assistance program helps people who can't meet an expense due to an unexpected situation or event. One of the most common uses of the one-shot deal is for rental assistance to prevent or forestall an eviction.

To Apply:

• Visit HRA’s website at https://a069-access.nyc.gov/accesshra/#/

• If you don’t already have an account, create one by clicking “Apply Now / Login” and then click “Create Account”

  • You’ll be asked to enter basic information, including email, name, phone number and date of birth

• If you already have an account, click “Apply Now / Login” and enter your email and password

• Once logged in, select “Cash Assistance Application” and then select “One Shot Deal”

• Answer the questions presented on the following 7 screens. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Social Security Number

  • Proof of Residence

  • Household Composition

  • Income

  • Rent

• After you have submitted the electronic application, you will be contacted for a phone interview which is required for approval
